The European Executive Agency for Climate, Infrastructure and the Environment (CINEA) has launched a call for grants under the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF).
The call for proposals makes EUR 5.12 billion available for projects focused on new upgraded and improved European transport infrastructure.
Application deadline 18.1.2023.
Projects funded under this call will help increase the sustainability of the transport network, putting the EU on track to meet the European Green Deal's targets of reducing transport emissions by 90% by 2050.
The call supports the European Commission's vision of sustainable, smart and resilient mobility. As the transport sector recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic, now is the time to further develop sustainable modes of transport and take full advantage of digital technologies.

An indicative total call budget is available to support infrastructure projects on the core and comprehensive TEN-T network in the following areas:
• railways
• inland waterways
• sea and land ports
• road safety
• railway and road terminals
• multimodal logistics platforms

The CEF transport program is a key EU funding instrument for the development of highly efficient, sustainable and interconnected trans-European transport networks, with a focus on the nine core network corridors. The program co-finances projects that improve multimodality, improve infrastructure and promote innovation and new technologies. The call for submission of project proposals supports projects within the general and cohesion envelope of the CEF Transport program.
