At this year's Days of Croatian Tourism, Slavonia won as the most successful rural tourism destination.

In the category "DESTINATION OF THE YEAR" in 2022, the following destinations were chosen • The most successful destination of (summer) holiday tourism • The most successful continental city tourism destination • The most successful nautical tourism destination • The most successful rural tourism destination • The most successful sustainable tourism destination (innovative and smart destination).

Slavonia won the competition among the nominated destinations: Gorski Kotar, and Vrgorac and its surroundings, and was declared the most successful rural tourism destination.

The annual Croatian Tourist Awards is a project of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the Croatian Tourist Board and the Croatian Chamber of Commerce, which was created with the aim of further encouraging competitiveness, innovation and awareness of sustainable development and raising the quality of services and products in the tourism sector. In 2022, as part of the Annual Croatian Tourist Awards project, the Croatian Tourist Board will award awards in the categories of Destination of the Year, Event of the Year, Cultural Attraction of the Year, Natural Attraction of the Year, Unique Gastronomic Experience of the Year and Man Key to Success, Employee of the Year.
