The first EUI call for proposals will fund projects to provide tangible, real-life examples of New European Bauhaus (NEB) interventions that fully integrate three core values of sustainability, inclusivity and aesthetics to a maximum level.
Cities are invited to consider the following four topics that have the greatest potential to generate innovative solutions and a clear demonstration effect to encourage the use of cohesion policy in urban areas:
• Construction and renovation in the spirit of circularity and carbon neutrality
• Preservation and transformation of cultural heritage
• Adaptation and transformation of buildings for affordable housing solutions
• Regeneration of urban spaces
The call will test the ability to turn current urban challenges into opportunities to address them with integrated solutions, turning the European Green Agenda into innovative interventions that empower citizens to lead change towards green and inclusive cities, towns and local communities.Candidates will be provided with the possibility of financing, as well as building knowledge and capacity (strengthening of capacity in designing strategies in an integrated and participative way) More information Innovative actions.
The total budget is EUR 50 million, and each project can receive up to EUR 5 million. Part of these allocated funds will support the transfer of these innovative solutions to other cities in Europe in order to have an even greater social impact.
