MOSAIC project is launching a call for suggestions on how fairly reward citizens in co-creation, as part of the project's research activities.
One of the goals of MOSAIC is to promote co-creation approaches that fairly recognise and compensate citizens' contributions in Open Innovation settings to be applied and tested in the realm of the EU Mission "Climate-neutral and smart cities".
The role of citizens and rewarding them in joint creation is essential, and thus more and more citizens are becoming key actors by participating in innovations. Citizen engagement is often encouraged at different institutional levels as one of the most powerful tools for increasing accountability of innovation and responding to societal needs. However, despite their key role in co-creation in open innovation, citizens are particularly vulnerable to unfair exploitation of their contributions. How to ensure adequate recognition and rewarding of citizens' contributions in approaches to joint creation? What types of options and mechanisms can innovation ecosystems adopt in order to encourage citizens to engage in collaborative innovation processes, but also to guarantee fair and transparent compensation for those who participate in designing or perfecting new market products?
This call for proposals addresses the above questions. The results will contribute to MOSAIC's research on new mechanisms of fair reward for citizens' contributions in open innovation environments.
The invitation is open to all actors from the four-fold spiral (commercial companies, citizens, research organizations or public agencies, public sector) until 25 November 2022.
Provide your information and share it with your contacts who may be willing and interested in participating in this survey here.
