The opening of call Action Planning Networks is planned in January 2023 based on the officially approved URBACT IV Work Program 2021. - 2027.

To prepare for the call, URBACT already today provides cities and local authorities with a platform to exchange, learn about other people's project ideas and matchmaking: a toll for searching for a match.

Activity planning networks consist of 8-10 partner cities of all sizes - municipalities, local authorities, specialized development agencies and city or regional institutions - from different EU countries, from all types of regions. They are led by the city administration, which plays the role of a leading partner together with a certified URBACT expert, guiding the way towards change for better cities.Partners will have 2.5 years to tackle a specific urban challenge - common to all participating cities - or improve local policies related to a specific theme. When it comes to contemporary cities, there are countless topics that networks can work with. URBACT has always encouraged cities to prioritize topics that are relevant to the partners involved.

For the next call, potential users are expected to take into account three transversal thematic angles: green, gender and digital. Whether a particular city seeks to address issues of mobility, cultural heritage, financial engineering, energy transition, or any other topic, URBACT invites further engagement and consideration of how these holistic topics can be part of the problem—or even the solution.

Until the opening of a new call, it is possible to update and change information from the project idea. Once all the necessary partners have been found, the partnership should be marked as closed so that no other expressions of interest will be received.
