The Call for Proposals for the Circulation of European Literary Works 2023 is open, with the deadline for submitting project proposals on February 21, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. CET.
Support for the circulation of European literary works is intended for projects dealing with the translation, publication, distribution and promotion of literary works.
TOPICS AND PRIORITIES
strengthening the transnational circulation and diversity of European literary works,
encouraging the translation and promotion of literary works written in lesser-used languages in order to increase their circulation in larger markets in Europe and beyond;
development of new audiences in Europe and beyond;
strengthening the competitiveness of the book and publishing sector by encouraging cooperation within the sector.
Additionally:
It is necessary to respect the principle of fair compensation for writers and translators in accordance with the report "Translators on the cover" prepared by the group of experts of the EU member states on multilingualism and translation, which was authorized by the Council within the framework of the open method of coordination.
Due to extraordinary circumstances in Europe, projects aimed at providing European or Ukrainian works in the Ukrainian language to Ukrainian refugees and displaced persons will be encouraged. In this sense, the printing, distribution and promotion of European or Ukrainian literary works in the Ukrainian language will be acceptable.
