European cities, regions and municipalities that want to present, share and enrich their strategy and their experience in promoting sustainable growth can now apply for the European Enterprise Region Award 2024

, run by the European Committee of the Regions (CoR). 

The European Enterprise Region Award (EER) is a project to recognize and reward EU regions and cities with outstanding and innovative enterprise policy strategies, regardless of their size, wealth and powers. Regions and cities with the most convincing, advanced and promising plan to realize the vision for a given year are awarded the label "European Enterprise Region" (EER).

This year's main theme of the European Enterprise Region (EER) project will be: cities and regions on the way to sustainable, resilient and digital growth. The focus will be on local and regional measures that will support the green and digital transition of SMEs over the next two years, that is, strengthen the competitiveness and long-term resilience of local economies.

Local and regional authorities can submit their strategies until March 29, 2023. 

Supporting SMEs and entrepreneurial activity from the bottom up is one of the priorities of the EER. Through this project, OR contributes to the implementation of the EU strategy for SMEs and the key priorities of the EU strategic program for the period 2019-2024 at the regional and local level. The EER designation is an opportunity for local and regional actors to highlight the key role that SMEs and entrepreneurs play in steering the EU economy towards a green and digital transition, as well as strengthening the economy's resilience in a rapidly changing geopolitical environment.
