Conference: Innovation Variety in Czech Regions in Brussels

The conference called Innovation Variety in Czech Regions focused on the innovation ecosystem based on cooperation and exchange of best practices within the Czech regions

, and significant steps in the regional development of the Czech regions Olomouc Region, Moravian-Silesian Region, Zlín Region, Liberec Region were presented. , the capital Prague, Plzeň Region and South Moravia.

The all day conference was held in Brussels within the framework of the current presidency of the Czech Republic in the Council of the EU, and in cooperation with the Representation of the South Moravian Region to the EU, CZELO, the Prague House in Brussels, the Network of Scientific and Research Regions ERRIN, the Moravian-Silesian Innovation Center and the Innovation Center of the region Pilsen region.

The Czech Republic became a member of the European Union on May 1, 2004.

The most important sectors of the Czech economy in 2020 were industry (28.1%), wholesale and retail trade, transport, accommodation and food services (17.5%) and public administration, defence, education, health and social services (16, 8%).

Trade within the EU accounts for 80% of Czech exports (Germany 33%, Slovakia 8% and Poland 6%), while outside the EU 2% goes to the USA.

As for imports, 73% come from EU member states (Germany 28%, Poland 9% and the Netherlands 7%), while outside the EU 11% come from China and 2% from the USA and Russia.
