Within the framework of Program Creative Europe (CREA), a call - Development of video games and immersive content (CREA-MEDIA-2023-DEVVGIM).

The objective of the call is to support the development of video games and immersive content that will increase the capacity of European video game producers, XR studios and audiovisual production houses to develop video games and interactive immersive experiences with the potential to reach a global audience. Furthermore, the goal of the support is to improve the competitiveness of the European video game industry and other companies that produce interactive immersive content on the European and international market by enabling the retention of intellectual property by European developers.

Expected results:

• Greater quality, attractiveness, feasibility and cross-border potential for selected projects.
• A stronger position in the European and international market for video game developers and companies that produce interactive immersive experiences.

Support will be given to the development of works and prototypes of interactive narrative storytelling with original content and/or quality gameplay intended for production and global commercial exploitation via computers, consoles, mobile devices, tablets, smartphones and other technologies.

The aim is to provide funds to video game production companies and other companies producing immersive content to develop works with a high level of originality and innovative and creative value, which have a high level of commercial ambition and a wide cross-border potential to reach European and international markets. This will enable further investments in innovative European content and increase the competitiveness of European companies on the digital global market.

Applications should include appropriate strategies to ensure a more sustainable industry that respects the environment and to ensure gender balance, inclusion, diversity and representativeness.

Eligible Applicant: Education and Training Institution, International Organization, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), Non-Profit Organization (NPO) / Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), Private Institution, including Private Entrepreneurship (Private and For-Profit), Public Institution (National , regional and local; including EGTC).

Application deadline: March 1, 2023.

Total budget: EUR 6,000,000 (maximum funding amount EUR 150,000 per project), co-financing rate 50%
