A call Capacity Building Strand 2b (I3-2022-CAP2b) has been opened in the frame of programm Interregional Innovation Investments Instrument (I3).

The Interregional Innovation Investments Instrument (I3) creates links for interregional cooperation that brings together actors from different regions of the EU who invest in joint innovation projects within the framework of priority S3. The aim of this call is to test new approaches to increase the capacity of regional innovation ecosystems in less developed regions for cooperation in EU value chains. The measures within this call will unleash the innovation potential of actors of the regional innovation ecosystem and facilitate their participation in calls within the framework of the Interregional Investment Instrument for Innovation (I3), for example for the submission of proposals within the framework of the instrument I3 Subprograms 1 and 2a. The projects of Program 2b refer specifically to the experimentation of new approaches, solutions and good practices for inclusion in interregional innovation processes by mobilizing ecosystems, especially small and medium-sized enterprises. The projects are expected to deliver a number of potential interregional investments, as well as business and investment plans. Strengthening the competitiveness and resilience of the EU's innovation systems will help Europe to face particular social and economic challenges during the transition to a healthy planet and a new digital world. Eligible applicants: legal entities (public or private bodies) with a place of business in one of the eligible countries (EU member states (including overseas countries and territories (OCTs)) − non-EU countries: EEA countries and countries associated with the I3 instrument or countries that in the course of negotiations for joining the agreement).

Total budget: 7,155,858 EURProject budgets (maximum grant amount) are expected to be between EUR 500,000 – EUR 1,500,000. The application deadline is 16.3.2023, 17:00 (CET).
