Ideas Powered for Business - SME Fund is a grant scheme in the form of vouchers designed to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the EU to protect their intellectual property (IP) rights
, which will co-finance activities related to with intellectual property (pre-diagnostic service related to intellectual property (IP Scan), trademark and design protection inside and outside the EU) as well as activities related to patents.
Fund for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises is an initiative of the European Commission, implemented by the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), and will last from January 23, 2023. until December 8, 2023.
Funds are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Intellectual property (IP) protection is mandatory in the digital age. It's a legal way to avoid copying or using unique ideas, products or services without permission. Intellectual property protection through the SME Fund can cover many different assets, including brands, designs, patents and plant varieties. Financial support is offered to small and medium-sized enterprises established in the European Union. The application can be submitted by the owner, employee or an authorized external representative on their behalf. Grants are awarded to SMEs and the refund is always transferred directly to their bank account.

The application process is simple, and the following documents are required (pdf format):
·Company bank statement ( sample ) containing the following information: company name as account holder, IBAN with country code ( examples ), and BIS/SWIFT code.
·Certificate of VAT of the company or or certificate of national registration number issued by the competent national authority.
·If a small and medium-sized enterprise uses the services of an external representative, a Declaration of Honor (template) must be submitted, signed by the authorized owner or employee of the small and medium-sized enterprise.
