The European Commission received from Croatia the third request for the payment of grants in the amount of EUR 700 million within the Mechanism for Recovery and Resilience

Croatia's third request for the payment of EUR 700 million (without pre-financing) covers 32 key stages and 13 target values.

They include investments in areas such as flood protection, municipal waste recycling, digitization of administrative, health and judicial services, energy renovation of buildings, sustainable, green and digital tourism, purchase of seismic equipment and construction of the "Križnica" scaffolding. The payment request also includes a series of reforms to promote the use of renewable energy sources and improve governance in the water, waste, maritime and tourism sectors, with an emphasis on sustainability. Further reforms relate to the areas of public procurement, higher education, health, the labor market, including the suppression of undeclared work and the establishment of a single online contact point for post-earthquake reconstruction and energy restoration.
The National Recovery and Resilience Plan will be financed with grants in the amount of 5.51 billion euros.
Payments under the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism depend on performance and whether Croatia implements investments and reforms from the Recovery and Resilience Plan.
The Commission will assess the request and then send the Economic and Financial Committee of the Council a preliminary assessment of the achievement of key stages and target values in Croatia, which are a prerequisite for payment.
