Tackling border obstacles and joining forces! A webinar organised in partnership with the Association of European Border Regions (AEBR).

Tackling border obstacles is a key objective of Interreg programmes and actors in border regions to build a better cross-border cooperation. Many programmes have raised the issue during programming and highlighted potential approaches to it.

The Association of European Border Regions (AEBR) is one of the important actors raising the flag of cross-border cooperation towards policy-makers from all levels. And one of the major concerns are the border obstacles adversely impacting the life of European citizens. AEBR implements DG Regio’s b-solutions initiative. Complementary to Interreg, the initiative is a useful tool to get support to address legal and administrative obstacles which still hamper cooperation across borders.

This webinar is designed to raise awareness about border obstacles and ways to solve them. Addressing specifically Managing Authorities and Joint Secretariats, the webinar will be articulated through testimonials, a presentation of the b-solutions project and time for questions and answers.

The webinar should:

• provide an overview of different approaches to border obstacles; and
• present the b-solutions initiative of DG Regio as a practical complement to Interreg programmes and jointly investigate options for synergies.
