The largest annual gathering and presentation of European regions and cities, called the European Week of Regions and Cities, is traditionally held in Brussels this year as well. It was also an opportunity to present the Representation of Slavonia, Baranja and Srijem, whose office on behalf of the five Slavonian counties has been run by Renata Taušan from Virovitica since last fall.

At the already traditional reception, which this year was the most attended in the last few years, and which is held in the Office of the Representation of Slavonia, Baranja and Srijem, the Slavonian prefects - representatives of the five Slavonian counties, hosted numerous high-ranking guests from Brussels, as well as Croatia.

On Monday evening, the representatives of the five Slavonian counties were led by Danijel Marušić, Prefect of Brod-Posavina County and Igor Andrović, Prefect of Virovitica-Podravine County, accompanied by: Ivana Bagarić (President of the County Assembly of Osijek-Baranja County), Franjo Orešković (deputy prefect of the Vukovar-Srijem County) and Senka Horvat (director of the development agency PANORA).

This event, which emphasizes the importance of the five Slavonian counties, where key projects that have been realized over the last 10 years in the area of ​​Slavonia, Baranja and Srijem, and further regional development with the perspective of the European Union were discussed, was attended by, among others, the ambassador of the Republic of Croatia in the Kingdom of Belgium, Joško Paro, Irena Andrassy, ​​Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia in the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Croatia to the European Union, Members of the European Parliament, Sunčana Glavak, Karlo Ressler, Tomislav Sokol, State Secretary in the Ministry of Regional Development, Domagoj Mikulić, Nikola Dobroslavić, Prefect of Dubrovnik-Neretva, as well as Željko Kolar, prefect of the Krapina-Zagorje County.
