ReCrAFting Cities: Arts and Culture for Sustainable Urban Spaces

In the spirit of the New European Bauhaus (NEB) initiative, CrAFT - Creating Actionable Futures envisions a future where arts and culture are catalysts for a profound transformation of our cities towards climate neutrality.

We are therefore committed to fostering collaboration and co-creation among cities, citizens, policymakers, artists and cultural operators.

Started in 2022, Creating Actionable Futures (CrAFt) is a three-year project founded by the Horizon Europe programme of the European Commission to place the transition to climate-neutrality at the heart of urban stakeholders.

Recrafting Cities is a 3-hour online session bringing together city and cultural representatives to exchange experiences around the contribution of arts and culture towards inclusive, creative and sustainable urban spaces.

Through riveting keynotes, inspiring case studies, and engaging participant interactions, ReCrAFting Cities embarks on a journey to explore the intersection of culture, environmental sustainability and livable neighbourhoods.

What participants can expect:

  • Contribute to the ongoing debate about the role of arts and culture under the framework of the New European Bauhaus
  • Be inspired by examples of how arts and culture are contributing to make cities more inclusive, sustainable and beautiful
  • For city representatives and cultural operators to network, exchange ideas and experience to improve their cooperation
  • Join an emerging movement.

This event warmly welcomes all who share a passion for harnessing the power of art and culture to craft a more equitable and sustainable future for our cities, including:

  • City representatives involved in cultural and/or environmentally sustainable initiatives
  • New European Bauhaus community members
  • Arts and culture professionals and activists
