Increased funding to support the transition of farmers and fishermen in the green economy

In the proposal for an enhanced long-term budget, the Commission will increase the amount for the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) by EUR 9 billion (EUR 4 billion for the European Agricultural Guarantee Fund and EUR 5 billion for the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development) and the European Maritime Fund. and fisheries (EFPR) for 500 million euros.

An additional € 15 billion will be made available for rural development under the EU's Next Generation program to provide additional support to rural areas that play a key role in achieving the green transition and achieving ambitious European climate and environmental goals.
