Croatia gets 22 billion euros

The agreement between the EU leaders on the recovery plan and the seven-year budget is a good compromise and Croatia can be extremely satisfied because with over 22 billion euros it will have a great lever for implementing reforms and economic recovery, Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković said in Brussels on Monday.

"I think that all of us, as heads of state or government, can express our satisfaction that a compromise has been reached, which is very good, because everyone has gained something, and the process of economic recovery in the member states will benefit the most," Plenković said after the marathon. summit, which lasted five days.
Croatia will have just over 12.6 billion euros from the new Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) and 9.4 billion euros from the new next-generation EU instrument (NGEU). Of those 9.4 billion, just over 5.9 billion are grants and 2.350 billion are loans.
"This is an unprecedented achievement. We received more than double the funds than in the first seven years of membership," Plenković said. National envelope that Croatia had in the MFF for 2014-2020. amounts to 10.7 billion euros.
Plenković pointed out that he managed to lobby for an additional 400 million euros within the national envelope, referring to the argument that Croatia is the only member, which used only one MFF and another 100 million for rural development.
