The call for applications for the European Entrepreneurial Region (EER) Prize has been published with the application deadline of 28 October 2020.

The topic of this call for applications for EER 2021-2022. is "Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Recovery".

What is EER?

• Label awarded by the European Committee of the Regions each year to 3 cities or regions with outstanding future-oriented strategies to support small and medium-sized enterprises, start-ups and expanded enterprises
• A growing network that actively strengthens its entrepreneurial ecosystems, exchanges good practices and joins forces for European projects

What's new in call EER 2021-2022?

• A special edition of the EER aims to encourage EU regions and cities to develop strategies to encourage SME entrepreneurship, taking into account the impact of the COVID-19 crisis
• Up to 6 awarded regions will carry the EER label for a period of two years (2021 and 2022), which should enable them to plan and implement strategies for successful economic and social recovery.
• The document "How to apply" contains questions and answers about the application procedure for EER 2021-2022

Who can apply?

All EU territories below the level of Member States that have political competences and are able to implement the overall business strategy, including wider regions, cities, EGTCs and Euroregions, are welcome to participate.
