Invitation from the European Committee of the Regions to submit best practice to EU local and regional authorities Submit your best practices #GreeDeal goes locally
The European Green Agenda is a roadmap for transforming the EU economy into a sustainable economy. It includes a new strategy for sustainable growth and a number of legislative measures, measures within line policies and funding mechanisms. It has a threefold goal: that there will be no more net greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, that economic growth will no longer be linked to resource use and that no person and no place will be neglected (European Commission). Areas covered by the European Green Agenda are:
• sustainable energy
• circular economy
• clean traffic
• nature and biodiversity
• food and agriculture
• green financing.
The #EUGreenDeal map is an initiative of the European Committee of the Regions that shows the steps that regions and cities are taking across the EU to decarbonise the European economy. It shows how individual communities are transforming their way of life and work, production and consumption, and how they are trying to achieve ecologically sustainable and socially and economically just growth.
Submit your best practices (climate action and green transition projects) before September 21 via this link.
As the deadline for submitting best practices approaches, we invite you to share this message with any relevant person so that the European Committee of the Regions can gather as many best practices as possible.
The best practices will be published on the website of the European Committee of the Regions (COR) and will be analyzed for inclusion in the COR's opinion "The Impact of Climate Change on the Regions: An Assessment of the European Green Agreement" by rapporteur Andries GRYFFROY (BE / ECR). in preparation. It is very important that all regions share their experiences and their practice on this topic.
Your project and experience are very valuable to learn how a green transition can boost recovery and resilience in Europe.
The COR will collect best practice from your city or region on energy, climate action, the environment and other objectives of the Green Agreement and will share it with other members and partner EU institutions.
Your best practice will be published and promoted at European level, also thanks to the work of the local working group for the Green Agreement (#GreenDeal).
You can submit your best practice in your native language by selecting your language from the drop-down menu at the top right of the form.
