Today, the Commission, together with partners in the Member States, launched the Digital Skills and Jobs Platform, a single point of contact for high-quality digital skills information, initiatives and resources.

At a time when 42% of Europeans do not have basic digital skills, the new platform will contribute to the acquisition of digital skills in Europe and the strengthening of the European Coalition for Digital Skills and Jobs and its 25 national coalitions. It is funded by the Connecting Europe Facility.

Internal Market Commissioner Thierry Breton said: Digital skills are key to success whether you are looking for a new job or starting a business. The Digital Skills and Jobs Platform brings together hundreds of initiatives from across Europe and enables citizens to enhance the learning experience and discover new opportunities.

As the EU's central hub for digital skills acquisition and retraining, the platform brings together best practices in digital skills, resources and key actors in the field to deliver a concrete impact on basic and advanced digital skills. It will also help beneficiaries through formulated national and EU initiatives, creating space for discussion and cooperation. In the near future, features such as self-assessment tools and online courses on emerging technologies will make it easier for everyone to find the right resource or service. Together with the Digital Europe program and the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism, the platform will contribute to the goals of the Digital Decade of Europe, which are that 80% of Europeans will know at least basic digital skills and will employ 20 million digital professionals by 2030. It will also contribute to the Skills Pact, a model of joint engagement for skills development in Europe. More information is available here.
