The call - Research and Innovation on Cultural Heritage and CCIs - 2022 (HORIZON-CL2-2022-HERITAGE-01), Horizon Europe Framework Program (HORIZON) has been published.

European art and cultural heritage have intrinsic value in enriching our lives, but they also reflect our way of life and contribute to shaping our society and its values. These are important elements of our creativity and innovation on which we build economic growth and social development, and they are important means of promoting Europe in the world. In order for Europe to retain its place in a globalized world, it is in our interest to step up our joint efforts to promote European culture, values and interests.

Projects should contribute to at least one of the following:
• Better awareness and understanding of European art, culture and values within the EU and internationally by using the creativity of partners in Europe's arts and cultural heritage
• Wider exposure to the diversity of European art, culture and values for European and international partners, by strengthening links with creative industries and other parts of the economy
• Strengthened joint European action to promote European culture and economic interests at the international level, thus contributing to strengthening European competitiveness.

Destination:
Innovative research on European cultural heritage and cultural and creative industries.
Europe's rich cultural heritage, with its common values, its richness of monuments and sites and its creative diversity of tradition, crafts, art, architecture, literature, language, theater, film and music, not only reflects our past but also shapes our present and builds our future. It is a creative way of fostering independent thinking and dialogue, while promoting our interests around the world. Access to the experience of cultural heritage contributes to social cohesion and inclusion, strengthening resilience and a sense of belonging, bringing people together and improving well-being.

Expected effects:
The full potential of cultural heritage, the arts and the cultural and creative sector as drivers of sustainable innovation and a European sense of belonging through continued engagement with society, citizens and economic sectors, as well as better protection, restoration and promotion of cultural heritage.
