The Joint Research Center (JRC) has issued a call for expressions of interest - Innovation Camps and Events, and interested regional and local actors can apply and present their project.

The action will be carried out under the brand Science meets the region and includes the following:
1. Innovation camps and participatory events for individual regions and cities, with an emphasis on specific themes and policies.
2. Initiatives for networking of consortia of regions and / or cities on issues of common interest, in order to encourage interregional cooperation.

Priority topics:
• Green and digital transition
• Recovery from the COVID-19 disease pandemic.
Whatever the topic, the proposal should be linked to territorial development.
Noting that this call is open to all topics related to the six broad priorities of the current European Commission.

Eligible applicants:
• Individual regions or cities (policy makers, but also linked to the scientific and academic world)
• Networks of regions and cities - for the multi-regional part under point 2 (at least three partners from at least two EU Member States).
What you can apply for:
• for financial support
 up to EUR 30,000 per entity (for individual regions or cities)
 up to 50,000 EUR (per network of regions and cities)
• methodological support (JRC has extensive experience with participatory and co-creative processes)
• scientific support.
Deadline for submission of expressions of interest: 1. April 2022
