The EU Commission DG REGIO seeks proposals from public bodies, beneficiaries and civil society organizations, interested in strengthening citizen participation in cohesion policy through collaborative innovative solutions.

This current call for expressions of interest is based on previous experiences of cooperation in this area between DG Regio and the OECD, which resulted in the publication of Citizens' Involvement in Cohesion Policy - DG REGIO and OECD Final Report on the Pilot Project.

The European Commission is now offering technical support from OECD experts to managing authorities, intermediary bodies or beneficiaries and civil society organizations to implement the principles of partnership in EU cohesion policy in an innovative way. Up to 10 proposals, co-signed by public authorities, beneficiaries and civil society organizations, will receive assistance from the OECD Open Government Unit to test new innovative citizen engagement solutions.
Such solutions can be in the context of designing, implementing and / or monitoring the program, but also strategies specific to one of the five policy objectives, or even a specific investment under the 2021-2027 program.
The action provides a basis for disseminating good practice to all EU members in citizen participation in cohesion policy.
