Green Plan - new proposals for the introduction of sustainable products and strengthening the independence of European resources

The Commission today put forward a series of proposals under the European GreenSearch plan to make sustainable products common in the EU, to boost circular business models and empower consumers in the green transition.

The Commission is proposing new rules to make products on the EU market more environmentally friendly, circular and energy efficient throughout the life cycle, from design to everyday use, conversion and end-of-life.

With the new strategy for the sustainable textile industry, textiles will become more durable and can be repaired, reused and recycled. The third proposal seeks to boost the internal market for construction products and ensure that the existing regulatory framework can ensure that the built environment meets our climate and sustainability goals.

With today's proposals, the Commission proposes the tools needed to move to a circular economy in the EU, separate from energy and resource dependence, more resilient to external shocks and respectful of nature and human health.

More information is available in our press release, documents with questions and answers on proposals for sustainable products, sustainable products and construction and informative articles on sustainable products ,  products and construction products.
