The Horizon 2020-funded project "Responsible Experimentation in Research and Innovation Policy in Energy Transition (RIPEET)" is building a community of passionate regional representatives committed to shaping the regional energy vision of the future.
Up to six candidates will be selected to participate in a mutual learning program following a pilot-mirror approach and will work closely as "mirror ecosystems" with those dealing with the three "pilot ecosystems" based in Extremadura (Spain), the highlands and islands of Scotland. United Kingdom) and Ostrobothnia (Finland). The aim is to adopt a system of methods developed, tested and validated throughout the project in order to strengthen regional capacities to implement a more responsible, inclusive and sustainable approach to energy transition.
The RIPEET Community and Mutual Learning Program is aimed at local and regional decision-makers committed to shaping a more responsible, inclusive and sustainable energy transition in their region.
Eligible applicants - regional authorities, local authorities, universities, regional clusters, energy agencies and innovation agencies or similar organizations well-connected regional actors in the energy transition. All applicants should have the capacity to ensure the participation of the innovation ecosystem and stakeholders.
Thanks to participation in the Community of Practice, the selected regions will benefit from:
• Joint design of methodologies and tools to be used in policy-making by learning from pilot regions about the tools and methodologies developed by the project;
• Save time and effort in designing new policy frameworks by learning from the successes and failures of other similar regions;
• Networking with colleagues and gaining EU visibility by sharing experiences with other regional organizations facing similar challenges and identifying key stakeholders in the field of energy transition.
Participation in the Mirror Ecosystems Community of Practice is free. The project will reserve travel grants for selected regions to attend events in the pilot areas.
Mutual learning visits are an opportunity for groups of experts, decision makers and other stakeholders from one or more territories (visitors) to visit the RIPEET (host) pilot area and see first hand how the Transition Lab and related experiments have been successfully conducted. Mutual learning visits will consist of a variety of interactive formats, specifically designed to engage participants and encourage collaborative learning.
Applications on call until 15.6.2022.
