The fourth round of applications for the EUCF (European City Facility) is open, where 48 local authorities across the EU will be selected to be supported with grants to develop their investment concepts, which is the first step towards a complete business and financial plan for their sustainable energy projects.
EUCF is a European initiative to support municipalities/local authorities, their groups, as well as local public entities that unite municipalities/local authorities across Europe to develop investment concepts and accelerate investments in sustainable energy.
In the form of grants in the amount of EUR 60,000, the EUCF finances services and activities to support the development of investment concepts, such as (technical) feasibility studies, market analyses, stakeholder analyses, legal, economic and financial analyses, risk analyzes and further accompanying tasks. These activities can be performed by internal staff or external experts. Grants are not intended for direct financing of investments.
Eligible applicants: municipalities/local authorities, their groups and local public entities bringing together municipalities/local authorities from EU member states, EEA-EFTA states (Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway) and the United Kingdom. Candidates must have a politically approved climate and energy plan. This includes SEAP (Sustainable Energy Action).
The application deadline is September 30, 2022. years.
Total budget: EUR 2.88 million (the part allocated for Central and Eastern Europe is EUR 1.32 million).
